The Body Compactor
Ever woken up with the distinct feeling that your body just went through a trash compactor? No? Well, you don't know what you're missing. Recently, I've been feeling like this almost everyday at 6:30 a.m., when I drag myself out of bed and into the shower.
Just pain everywhere. Can't move. It happens every semester around this time—week 10. Classes start catching up, and I realize what a bad idea it was to take 3 (or 4 in this case) techs in one semester. My eyes become (and remain) bloodshot and puffy, and the bags underneath my eyes grow. Usually this goes away after a month at home after the semester, when I sleep until noon everyday. After the eyes go, I begin to lose weight, so any progress I might have made trying to get over 140 lbs. fails miserably and I drop back down to 130 lbs., 5 lbs. lower than my standard 135. Wonder if any of this will ever catch up with me? Nah, couldn't happen, right?
