Year in Review, 2004
I have been home in Irvine for almost a week now, eating, sleeping, avoiding the computer, and watching a lot of movies, so I decided I would do a reflection on the year that has just about passed in my free time.
The past year has been eventful, to put it mildly. Academically, I took a very challenging courseload of mostly major classes both semesters and managed to survive and even thrive. Moreover, I learned about a lot of interesting (for me, at least) topics and enjoyed my classes. After spending spring semester in the dorms, I moved into an apartment for the summer and the 2004-2005 academic year.
Summer was a period of intense work at ResComp, peaking during the last weeks of August, but I felt we did a tremendous job with our project and am very proud of our new system. Fall semester was comprised mostly of balancing the misery of recruiting, my hardest combination of classes to date, work, and various social engagements. Although the stress and work of this past year has probably shaved a few years from the tail end of my life, I think all in all, it was a very successful and enjoyable year.
After much reflection, I have finally decided that I'm excited to be moving on from college, and am intently looking forward to my last semester at Cal, graduating from college, CalSO 2005, and finally entering the real world
this upcoming summer. I hope you all are enjoying the holidays, and wish you all the best in the year to come. Happy New Years!
