Rohit Reviews: Life of Pi

Life of Pi, the international bestseller by Yann Martel, first came into my sights a few years back when someone I knew recommended it to me as the book that would make me re-evaluate religion. My own religious views aside, that statement is a very powerful one and I was immediately intrigued by the novel. However, classes and work always occupied my time over the last few years, and moreover, I prefer the classic to the contemporary, so it was only now that I actually had a chance to pick up a copy and get through it. Did it make me re-evaluate religion? Not really. Was it an amazing novel? Absolutely.

Cocaine Chic

Beware, dear readers, because this is going to be a story about bums. This shouldn't surprise you, of course, if you've spent any time here in the past three years, since I think it's abundantly clear that in the last four odd years I have lived in the Bay Area, my life has become one trite, shitty, unending story about bums. Experiences in Hotlanta

As my time in Atlanta, GA winds to a close, I thought I'd take a moment to reflect on some of my experiences here and the lessons that I learned, most good, some bad. Municipal Mismanagement

This just in! This just in! The San Francisco Municipal Railway sucks! Not only does it suck, but in recent days, it has become the bain of my existence. In fact, as of this writing, I can say with a fair degree of confidence that there are very few things I hate more in this world than the SF MUNI System ... well, except for those damn Berkeley bums. Oh, and those bureaucratic ass-clowns over at L&S. Oh, and worthless bloggers. Did I mention those freakin' bums? Ok. Point taken. Touché.

Rest in Peace

It is with a heavy heart and a wavering voice that I must announce the passing of a dear friend last night at my housewarming party. On September 4, 2005, at about 4 pm, my tried and true digital camera, a stalwart companion throughout my undergraduate years at Cal, took its last picture, before the lens falling out of the socket rendered it nonoperational.
